More feedback/Want to improve

Any helpful feedback about how to improve my technique is appreciated. Experienced retouchers--what would you do differently?

Re: More feedback/Want to improve

Hi Siciliana: I think your work is pretty good. Although the photos are not suitable for a portfolio or gallery. Both of them have limited (not to say none) background space, it is almost impossible to deal with the cleaning at the upper part since there's no space to make changes or retouch. Keep up the good work!

Thumbs up Re: More feedback/Want to improve

It might have been a commissioned set, so I can't judge you on the choice. I shoot all my images, but if I did do just the retouching, I would never have chosen image that needs as much fixing as Nadia's. All the strokes tend to add-up no matter how much you're being careful and it ends up looking off.

You've done a nice job on Hillary, one thing you could do is even-out the tone on her left cheek. Apart from that, wonderful, as this is more of a portrait type image, yet beauty oriented.

As for Nadia, you did a good job restoring the background and framing the face. Top of the head(hair line and the desaturated patches) is problematic. Adding some symmetry to the jaw line as well as the mouth wouldn't hurt, as it would give her more stamina. I would lose the bow behind her left ear, as it makes image look right-side heavy.

Re: More feedback/Want to improve

Thanks for the suggestions. Those were a couple I just did for practice on skin texture. Good ideas on the second model... definitely could have taken it further and the desaturated area is glaring to me now Maybe one of these days I will get back to it and make it better.
