Portrait Feedback Please

Please view the attached images before and after. The before is a scan from an inkjet image on an 81/2 by 11" on plain paper. The after image is a completed work I intend to transfer to canvas. It is a protrait of my sister so it is not for profit work and one of my first attemps to use Corel Painter 12 in combination with Photoshop cs5.

They both were produced on a imac calibrated with a spyder3 ver 4.0. I am not sure how the colors will render on a non calibrated monitor so I would be interested in that feed back as well. I have a canon ipf8300 that I wil be using for the transfer to canvas so if anyone has experience with that printer I would als be interested in any tips you can supply. This is my first attempt with this printer.

Thank you

Re: Portrait Feedback Please

I think it looks good.. ... Although it started out a bit blurry.. I think I would sharpen the eyes, hair, and ear rings a bit more so they won't fade away on the canvas after printing.. especially the eyes need to be sharp to stand out...

Opinions may vary!!

Re: Portrait Feedback Please

I really like what you have done with the image. However, I agree with OlBaldy you need to sharpen the eyes. Also, the black at the top of the image, where her hair is, I think, the line looks to clean. I would move up the lighter color to surround her head, just a little bit. This, I think, would remove the helmet head.
