Smile Constructive critique needed

here's a link to some rollover retouching examples:
http://tomteachesphotoshop.com/retou...0portfolio.htm

Can you please tell me which ones look the worst (i should remove) and which are the best (if any)?
Also, what can I do to improve the presentation?

thank you very much for your time.

Re: Constructive critique needed

Hi Tom,

I feel the strongest work is in the "Corrective Retouching" section. It's very impressive with a couple of exceptions: the glasses and closed eyes photos. It's good work, but the quality of photos aren't in sync with the other shots in this category. I would toss them. Again, I love what you did with the crowd shots as they just pop with the dodge/burn. Also, great job cleaning up the flash reflections in the wedding photo.

I admit that the first category, "changed background," isn't my cup of tea. Having said that, I feel the best here are the "mars" vixen and then chroma key with motorcycle. The others can go.

The motorcyle work has this great style to it and I see it as a comic book style frame with heavy ink outlines. The first one with the vixen on "mars" is a cool novelty. I think the swords are a bit over the top...it would look better without them in my opinion. The robot girl is a cool concept, but it just doesn't work for me. The angel photo is also good work, but that background doesn't do the foreground justice.

The girl on the car and the model in the garden aren't well done. Both of those backgrounds don't quite pull it off and I don't like the distorted look on both (with respect to their body sizes). However, the car looks fantastic in the highway photo.

I hope this feedback helps. Let me know if I can clarify anything. Thanks!

OMG, that motorcycle is out of perspective and HUGEEEE.

You butchered that kneeling +size Vogue image, please don't squish people like that.

All in all, group shots look best among the bunch.

Fantasy stuff might be good, I just don't understand the genre.

Work SLOWLY, do things bit by bit, it seems as if you're trying to please your eye by doing it all at once, and retouching just doesn't work that way.

Keep at it, with more practice, you could be good at fantasy type images.

Under COLOR AND DETAIL BOOST I like the second one, the red head. Everything else looks over saturated, lack detail, and looks as if that all you did is applied some filter to it and called it a day. That is not what retouching is all about.

Retouching is all about patience.
