My First Retouch!

Hello!
I'm new to this forum. Nice to meet you all.
I know Photoshop about 12 years. I studied publishing technologies at the college. So I heard about PS there for the first time. After that worked in one magazine and prepared photos with PS. But it was very quickly preparing. I work in the newspaper now and use PS for the same purposes.
Few months ago I decided to know PS more in-depth and try out Beauty Retouching. So that's my first attempt.

- I used Dodge & Burn almost all over the skin

- Inverted High Pass and Split Frequency for smoother skin on the neck

- Tried to repaint most tangled hair (I have no Tablet and Pen so it was not easy to do this with mouse)

- Clone & Stamp for hair on the forehead, on the ear and near the ear

Thank you!

Re: My First Retouch!

So could I have some feedback? As I said I'm new to this forum. Maybe I did something wrong?

Re: My First Retouch!

Hi, I think it's a great first retouch! I'm nobody, and learning myself but I like it. There are a lot of subtle improvements. The image was pretty clean to start out with, I like how you made the shoulder more tucked in.

Ben

Re: My First Retouch!

Ben Retouch >>> Yes, I like this forum too. Thanks for the link. As I see there is not bad forum too. Here is mine source of the RAW files: http://www.digitalphotoshopretouchin...for-retouchers . And yes, I'm trying to make my portfolio.

Mike Needham >>> Yes, I retouched the hair. I tried few things but they didn't work. It seemed kinda difficult for me cause they have no one color. It's blond hair with dark roots. So I just repainted the most tangled hairs. But I still have some doubts about them. If you know what I could do with them I would be very pleased to hear.

Re: My First Retouch!

Ben Retouch >>> it seems it's not so simple with Model Mayhem forum. They want at least 4 photos for submitting a profile. Well, I'll keep retouching!

Re: My First Retouch!

And I have one question. Maybe anybody knows what is done with her face? Some sharpening filter or something else?

Re: My First Retouch!

I'd say high end glass is what's making that shot stand out.
