| | | I agree with guidelines/Have a question Hi,
I have read and agree to the guidelines, but have a question. When someone posts a photo, what security is there that someone else won't take that photo and use it maliciously somewhere else on the net? The photos I'll be uploading initially will be of family members, so I'm not that worried, but I am curious. I would hate to post something of a client's down the road and then get slapped with a law suit. Maybe I'm just thinking too hard. I love this forum and hope to get some serious guidance from it. Are you familiar with Creative Commons http://creativecommons.org/? Would it be necessary to do something there? Please excuse my ignorance on this matter. |

| | | ramona,
there is no complete safeguard against this, not even here. folks do have to register to see ATTACHED pictures, so that weeds out some of the stuff. linked images can still be seen however without registering....i think.
also, it's probably not a good idea to post client work here, at least not the full image. a number of these have been posted here, but the person posting will often just put up a portion of the image to protect the overall. if you must post the full image, then overwrite it with a watermark of some kind and a copyright notice. this will also discourage illegal use.
i'm afraid there's no complete safeguard here other than one's own judicious, common sense practices.
