It would help if you shown us the before and after picture, otherwise how can we offer any help...

JMHO (just my honest opinion)

Talking Alex...

I can see you have smoothed out her skin, and i have to say done very well, i really hate the plastic look some pictures look like, this is subtle and nicely done!

Also looks like you have added more gloss to her lips that looks nicely done too, i don't have any complaints, keep the natural look going, don't go plastic!

Lose the highlight on the top of her lip. Give the image a dose of USM. Otherwise, nicely done.

Dave

Usm??

I believe USM stands for Unsharp Mask Filter in Photoshop. I thought the restoration was right on. A nice portrait and retouching project

Hi Alex

I'm not sure that it's any better than what you have done but maybe just a couple of ideas. As in my earlier post, I reduced the highlight on the upper lip and sharpened the image .8/200/2. I Healed her right cheek just a little more and reduced the red/magenta in both cheeks just a tad. I thought her chin looked a little "dirty" so I Patched it from a cheek area.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Alex,

I took a quick look at your image. Overall I like it. I usually try to retouch so that the person the picture is of could not tell (unless the goal is "glamorizing"). As a result, I try not to change anything that is a characteristic part of the body, particularly freckles. I left the ones on her face and shoulders, but did remove the one on the tip of her nose. I think you did a good job of maintaining the natural look, but I left it a little less blur because that is my preference. That depends mainly on personal taste.

My only other change was to correct for monocular conversion (viewing a person from one lense rather than two) so I shifted the chin line a little becuase she is looking down.

Then a little USM, levels, curves, selective color, and a little grain.

Michael

Hello Dave,

Thanks for the retouch. It looks good. I guess next time i will include a link where to download the high res image so you all can make changes accoringly. For some reason the one you edited was a bit grainy. It still look darn good, and i thank you for the effort put into it. As always, i am open for great ideas!

Regards,

Alex..
