Curb Appeal

There are so many home improvement shows now; Trading Spaces, While You Were Out and so on. I thought for this challenge that I would create a digital version. Attached is a home that needs some curb appeal. Work your digital magic and see what you can create. You can change colors, add porches, bay windows and so on.

Only just found this post and thought of this.
It may take you a little time to complete the construction (and quite a lot of cash), but the neighbours would certainly notice it.

You did say we could change the windows etc.

T. Paul, no major changes, and I didn't spend a lot of time on painting it, but Lynette Jennings says the front door should be the focus of a home from the street and that we should paint it our favorite color (no matter what that might be) and leave the shutters and garage door more neutral. Oh, and I added a wreath

My quick thoughts. Not terribly ambitious, but attainable I think

nancy,

cassidy,
i like the flowers. i was thinking of hedges along the drive and front, but i think now maybe the flowers are better. i might still be tempted to put a low hedge along the front, however. the higher elevation of the lawn wouldnt be blocked from view and a hedge would frame things nicely.

i'd also think about adding an ornamental tree in the yard, somewhat off center to the front near the drive, but at least a good ten feet from it.

i got lazy about trying to find some hedges to copy into the pic, so all you get for now is this text version

Thanks, T

Curb Appeal is one of my favorite shows.

In this eposide:

The shutters and doors were painted dark green. A small porch was added, and the window on the porch was enlarged.

And, since it's TV, there was still enough money to repave the driveway.

Went subtle, changed the siding to warm up the place. Replaced the roof with different shade of tiles, I also changed the drive way (left the leaves they can sweep up themsleves..LOL). Also had the lawn people round to treat that thing with some chemicals to a deeper green.

Ok I know this looks bad. I almost said forget it and didn't post it but my mouse is broken and goes in the opposite direction half the time and my husband hasn't hooked up my new one yet. So.... I will do a better one later. This is just an idea though. The one corner is too dark and the house is too overgrown. I was too frustrated to adjust the tone of my red but I was looking for a slightly deeper color. I think shrubbery in the front would balance the hill and actually I would border off the driveway and try leveling out some of the lawn next to it. Then line the border with those little outdoor lights and either get rid of the large pole light or move it closer to the walkway and garage.

Hi! This is my first time posting a pic here. I trimmed the trees, repositioned the lamp post, darken the roof, planted bushes along the newly tarred pathway and added picket fences. Every house needs picket fences, right?
