Have trouble getting back to original file

This happens to me almost daily and I'm sure that there is a simple solution to this problem.

I read a thread with the intention of checking back later in the day or in the next few days. More often than not I cannot locate that thread again. How can I ensure that once I've read a thread I will be able to find it again. I prefer not to use "favorites".

Well, if you don't want to "use Favorites" (or "Digg it" or "del.icio.us") or other ways to save your favorite posts, you can remember which Forum it was in and then look for it under "Today's Posts" - one of the choices listed under "Quick Links" in the top menu. Since I often want to take some more time with a certain thread or post, I just leave that window open until I can get back to it later that day (or the next). Firefox has a nice feature that brings back all the open tabs if the browser accidentally goes down. I use del.icio.us.com to save my favorites so that they will be safe in case of computer failure.

Click on the button at the top of the RP Home Page called Thread Tools and select Subscribe to This Thread.

Hey, Murray -- Now THAT is the answer! Duh! I don't do it much anymore since I use other methods, but that is the best answer. We can always depend on Murray for accurate assistance.

To expand on Murray's suggestion, when you subscribe to a thread there's more you can do.

You can choose to be instantly notified if the thread is updated, but there's still more.

Click the "User CP" link at the top of every page and you can organize your subscriptions - even create different folders to keep them in. Just click on "User CP" and look for "Subscribed Threads" on the left side of the page.

Thanks for your suggestions. I guess that there isn't an "easy" way. What I will do is make a special folder under "favorites" and copy that thread. When I'm finished with it I just delete it.

Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something obvious.
