Question: What is "Quote"?

When replying to a lengthy post, or to a post quite a bit further up the thread, it can sometimes be useful to "quote" some of the original in your reply.

Under each post you'll see the "Quote" button. It will take you to the Reply screen with the original post already pasted in. You can cut and trim the original post, and even reply in the middle of it.

Please use this function sparingly, and don't quote more than necessary. Quoting entire messages can make things harder to follow instead of easier.

Re: Question: What is "Quote"?

How do I use the multi-quote function? I'd like to quote and answer multiple questions from a single post...

Re: Question: What is "Quote"?

Click the multiquote button for each post you'd like to quote (it will change color) then click "Post Reply". It does not work with the Quick Reply box.

Ok... Thank you Doug. I didn't explain myself very well... I just wanted to respond to one person with multiple questions in their post.

You need to do that manually

[ .quote. ] this will start the quote (without dots and spaces)

and this

[ ./quote. ] Will end the quote (Again, with no dots or spaces)

Then for each line you want to answer to, you need the two of them

Quote:
do you like red?
no, I love red

xx

Re: Question: What is "Quote"?

looks like I'm a bit late.. but I did it sooo I'm going to submit it...
OR
you could do as I do... Copy the first quote with brackets... paste at the bottom.... select the text... move it to bottom next to the previouse paste... select the closed quote.. copy it.. and paste it at the end... respond..... then do it again for the next question

The first example should wind up looking like the second Sample
