Just purchased a new,(not refurb.), Dell 21" Flat Screen Trinitron off of E-Bay for $300 delivered. Huge in size but a great monitor.

There are a number of good large monitor deals on E-Bay. Even ground shipping is rather pricey.

Thanks to all of you for your input re. CRT vs. LCD/TFT.

I was leaning toward staying with the CRT on a new Dell. They offer two CRT's. One is regular and one is flat screen, 17 or 19 inch.

That's my choice Gary, the 17" flat screen CRT. Same size as my 1998 vintage which I will probably hang on to as it is still perking along nicely.

Thanks

Steve C.

Until you can prove to be that you can adequately ...

...calibrate and LCD, stick with CRTs. My two cents of course. Religate LCD's to word processing.

I used to be a CRT diehard but technology keeps getting better and lower in price. I just bought the brand new ViewSonic VP931B 19inch LCD monitor. It puts my 21 Sony and 21 Samsung to shame. Awesome performance for a monitor that is $530 Canadian (<$500US). The only issue is the max resolution is 1280 x 1024. If that is some thing you can live with in your workflow, its a good deal. Regards, Murray
