Color match on LCD and CRT monitors

Can anyone tell me the best way to match color as closely as possible on my dual monitor setup? My main monitor is a SONY SDM-HX73 and the 2nd one is CTX 1785. I'm trying to get the CTX to match the SONY as close as I can.

I tried to run Adobe Gamma on the CTX, but it always only brings up the SONY. Know how I can get it to do the CTX?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd suggest a hardware calibrator, such as the i1 Display from Gretag/Macbeth or the Spyder from ColorVision.

I would calibrate the number 1 monitor [ that being the one you judge images on] and simply eyeball # 2 into approximate compliance with #1. You must get Fancy with two monitors to calibrate both and there is little reason to bother.

To answer your question, simply eyeball your 2 nd monitor in.

The advantage to this is you can make your #2 monitor abit softer on the brightness and leave it at a size you can see.

Peg--check out my third (rather long-winded) post on this thread: It documents my trials and tribulations with getting two monitors calibrated together...and includes links to the two pieces of software I use (in addition to my Gretag MacBeth EyeOne Display2 software and colorimeter) to manage this on my own PC. Good luck!
