Portable photo printer advice

My niece is getting married and she plans to have each "table" at the wedding reception write something and then take a picture of the people at each table and seal it all in an envelope which the (hopefully still) happy couple will open on the anniversary designated by the table number.

I think it's a great idea. With digital cameras and portable photo printers it is possible.

My concern is how durable are the prints from those little photo printers? Will the prints be viewable after 10, 20, 30 years being stored in an envelope?

Any insight greatly appreciated.

Re: Portable photo printer advice

I would not "stack and rubber band" them...

I would think durability would not be an issue as long as the prints are not exposed to light and the elements in general. I've got photo albums with pics > 50 years old that look fine to me.
