BH photo has a Eizo ColorEdge CE240W for sale for $1450 (might be able to talk em down some) with full manf. warrenty. Is this a risky buy? I haven't called yet to see the condition or how long its been used or running.
My other option is 30" cinema display, more screen but more money...1599 with student discount, would have to also buy ColorEyes Pro to calibrate it right... (already have a Gretag Macbeth eyeone display 2)
I really like the hardware profiling of the eizo but I also like the size of the apple. I'm still a student (graphic design) but I want to go more towards retouching , I have a prepress retouching job lined up soon but I also would like to freelance at home eventually so I need an accurate display
Heres a link discussing calibrating the cinema's with coloreyes pro

what are your opinions with calibrating the cinema displays with that program? (supposed to talk with the displays, some sort of plugin for it) will it have the color accuracy close to the Eizo?
$1400 for a high end display would nice....but the huge cinema would also be nice....hmmm
The 5yr warranty on the Eizo is nice too, wouldn't try a demo with a 1yr!
The only hangup I have is color accuracy...its hard to tell which one is "right" the cinema displays have a gamut very close to the Eizo CG211 as shown here:
