Wacom/ Photoshop probs

I'm pulling my hair out over a problem I'm sure has an obvious answer but I've skimmed through Google and Retouch to no avail. Basically when I'm in Photoshop CS2 using my Wacom Pen ( Intuos 2 9x12) the cursor disappears when I go over the window I want to work in. The problem doesn't occur with with the trackpad and I've installed the latest driver, any ideas peeps?

Re: Wacom/ Photoshop probs

Does it only happen in Photoshop, or all windows? Can you use the Intuos mouse? Mac or Windows?

Try selecting the move tool or the marquee tool and see if you still see the problem. If it only happens with the brush tool, try setting the control pull down for the brush settings to off, and set your brush size to 10. This may help you see the cursor again.

Re: Wacom/ Photoshop probs

Try pressing the space bar to get the move icon. The brush size may be too small to see easily or too large to show.

I use this all the time when I have a small brush. It is always getting lost. With this trick the brush can't hide anymore.

Re: Wacom/ Photoshop probs

Sorry, I'll give you a bit more info: I'm on a Macbook Intel Core Duo 1.5GB RAM. Problem only seems to occur in photoshop. I don't have a mouse to test it, I'm afraid, and the brush size isn't too small. For example, if I select the magic wand, as soon as I move over the window I want to work in, the cursor disappears, I can however see the dotted lines on the ruled edges of the window moving around to vaguely indicate where it should be. Does this make sense? - Not sure if I'm being clear.

Thank you so much for your help on this, cause so far I'm stumped.

Re: Wacom/ Photoshop probs

I also have had this happen. I even phoned Wacom (as well as sent emails). They didn't have any answers. So I just lived with it as an annoyance.

Surprise, surprise, the problem magically went away the last time my computer was wiped and all of the programs were reinstalled. Now I admit that is probably a bit drastic; but it worked.

As a workaround, try uninstalling the software (driver) that your Wacom came with and reinstalling the newer driver from their website.

Sign me updated and happy,

Janet
