Dual monitor calibration

Okay, I am pretty much a newbie at this stuff. I have been doing a fair amount of PS over the summer on my Lenovo laptop but I have not printed out very much; just learning. I returned home and am using the laptop along with a Samsung monitor. The difference between the two screens is night and day. The laptop is muddy and washed out. The monitor is bright and crisp. The colors between the two are very different. The monitor is much warmer. I used the Adobe Gamma to calibrate both screens the same but that didn't work. I used Adobe rgb1998 setting. Can anyone help me?

it's difficult to do as you only have 1 video card, i think you have to use a LUT or a display profile to get the 2nd monitor to the desired setting...

I did a test and the Samsung has the truest color to the actual image. The laptop is way off. I may just move the laptop over to the side, put the Samsung in front and use a keyboard. That way I will have the largest surface for the color correction and the laptop for close up editing when color is not important. I would like to use the laptop for editing when I travel but I am thinking that is probably not going to work. I don't know if it can be calibrated to true colors.

I have also been checking out Spyders but again, I probably need a second video card to calibrate each screen separately.
