Scanners: Best Scanner Epson or Canon?

Hi, im new here and hate to have my first post asking something from everyone but I am buying a scanner hopefully tomorrow and have had a horrible time deciding which is the best and was not sure to ask and have narrowed it down to about 2 scanners:
the Epson Perfection 4490 and the Canon CanoScan 8800F

ive seen reviews and it seems they really have both good and bad points but I wanted to get some expert opinions on these brands or scanner models, if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.

I am looking for something quite fast and good quality scans and i think both should be ok but please let me know if either is a bad choice.

I also was considering the epson V350 with an auto film scanner but i was put off by comments that it has a very slow speed and it doesn't hold as many negatives or slides. I don't really want to spend more than those 2 above scanners.
