Unhappy Guess who's New Epson 3000 isn't comp. with Xp???

Epson 3000 isn't comp. with Xp. You can use the Win2000 driver and settle for 1440 dpi, or use the OEM plug and play, for 720dpi. YUCK!!!!!!!!!

"Settle"? The specifications list the 3000 as a 1440 x 720 dpi printer. The Epson website also says XP has built-in support for the 3000.

Either way you should be able to get the maximum resolution the 3000 allows. Let us know how it goes. The 3000 was a good printer.

Why would they do that? It doesn't make sense since they would loose a huge chunk of the market since XP is the newest Windows version out. Interesting thread and one I will follow for sure.

Using WIN 2000NT driver

Since Xp was built on the 2000 platform they say the driver will work. I've tried, and untried, and retried to get some decent prints and I'm having no luck with all the different papers, and settings. I get better prints on my 785EPX than I do on my Epson. Does this make sense to anyone??? If you've got an idea to help me, then please email me personally....

Thanks....

Well, photos will always look better on a 785EPX. The 3000 isn't a photo printer. It's designed for graphics comping. Epson's printers designed for photo printing have "photo" in their name. Granted, the 3000 prints look great, but not when compared side-by-side to photo printer output.
