Re: canon 5d II

i just watched this guy take pictures with the 5dii and 85 f/1.2 today. even the most basic pictures were super sharp and had amazing colors. not sure how much had to do with the lens, but the combination was awesome.

Re: canon 5d II

Too bad, i don't have 5DII, but i have 1DsIII, almost the same quality until high ISO, even i prefer 1DsIII quality over 5D series, because 1-series has better Dynamic range and more details, and more important it gives more natural colors than 5D which mostly popping colors more.

Go over to http://photography-on-the.net/forum/, there are whole threads regarding the pros and cons of the 5DmkII.

I own one and love it, upgraded from the 300D (which is a crop body) to the full frame 5DmkII

Re: canon 5d II

fut...can't believe you converted form Nikon to Canon. I thought more canon users were going the other way?

From what I read, the new 5DII had less noise at higher ISO than the 1DsMarkIII? True about dynamic range?

Is shutter speed fast enought to get good?

Any opinion on camera's focusing ability. Canon has been hit hard lately with regards to AF.

I have both the 1Ds MkIII and 5D 2. If u have the money, i would go for the 1Ds3. Better AF...If you are looking at value, then go for 5D2.

Re: canon 5d II

Although i'm still with Nikon, there's something about skintones and the 5D/5Dll that i do miss a little, since converting to Cap one though i find it's easier to emulate the canon colours in pp,
Gary...
