Mac Monitors for PCs

folks, i had the distinct pleasure of looking at a truly great monitor today. this is the new line of mac LED monitors. notice i said LED, not LCD. actually, i looked at two, the 24 inch and the 27 inch. now, i have a decent lcd monitor. in fact i have two of the same kind because i like them. but, these apple led's just impressed me. my lcd's, if you swivel them up or down or side to side very much at all, you lose the true picture in shadows and poor clarity and white space and so on. these new led's i could swivel up and down with almost zero loss and side to side the same way. the clarity of the picture is truly stunning. naturally, they're using some of the best pictures they could find to show these monitors off, but i'm telling you, these were truly impressive. i could have picked a hair off a fly's eyelids

they are not cheap, however. i think the 24" goes for $899 u.s. currently. i didnt see the 27" listed, so not sure of that price.

oh, and yes, they can be used with a pc. you'd want to read all the specs pretty carefully to be sure, but according to the salesguy i talked to today, it could handle a pc connection.

so, if your graphic's hubby/wife is looking for a nice christmas present...

Do they require a Displayport plug?

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB...co=MTA4MzU1MzE

that's the page for the 24". yes, it takes a mini, but, you simply get the mini to dvi cord or mini to vga cord and then it shld work with the pc... i think. again, i got the info from a salesguy. he said it would work and i cant see any reason why it wouldnt, but, one might want to ask before spending $900 or more on a monitor for a pc only to find out that that idiot craig had it all wrong

Re: Mac Monitors for PCs

If it doesn't work with a PC, you can always complete the gift by giving them a Mac (and say that was your plan all along).

Hope you are doing well.. Take care. Alan.
