Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...creen_LCD.html Then the man at BnH told me that the Eizo Color Edge series is really great too bc it has heat sensors in the screen to keep the color balanced, but I'm not sure if its worth the extra money. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc....html#features Any body have suggestions as to which is the better monitor? or Maybe you have a suggestion for a better monitor in general? Thats in a reasonable price range, HELP please. Amanda Last edited by Amanda_Lauren; 02-22-2010 at 11:01 AM.

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor Is it really really necessary? I mean, i do love those high end displays and when i can, i'm going to buy one, but more out of "tech-head-ness" than out of real need. An apple cinema display is a lot cheaper. Even the one in the iMAC is pretty good. If you retouch for web, you're safe as it matches most of the user's displays and there's just no need for the extra gamut that will be cut off when converting to sRGB. If you are going to use it for print, then you just calibrate it and use proper profiles... and you save 500€ that you can spend on RAM... or ice cream.

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor Well I'm not sure what if it will be web dominant or print. I'll have the option for both, because it will be for freelance. The mac 30' display is not cheaper, they don't make the mac displays anymore, and I already bought a mini mac so iMac is not necessary. I mean the price is steep, but I don't mind its a long term investment. Although, I do like ice cream. Thank you for your input Flexmanta. And Doug yes I agree 22" display is would be too small. And after all is said and done I already went with the LaCie 526. I saw it at BnH its beautiful. So, when I get it I'll write alittle review for everyone, if anyone is remotely interested the review will be here. Thanks.

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor we have an eizo at work and i don't like the limited angle of view..it is very annoying when a client is sitting next to me and notices a color shift if they aren't sitting directly in front of it...

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor SO I received my LaCie 526 in the mail and its gorgeous and really heavy. lol. Super happy I didn't go to BnH myself to try to lift this home by myself. The colors are outstanding and its so crisp. The screen itself is so big I don't think ill be even using my Laptop as a second monitor. And I love all the range in height that it has and I can physically rotate the monitor so I can work in portrait view. Awesome? I think yes.

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor Amanda, just wondering. How is the contrast? I've been thinking of that monitor for a while now...

Re: Eizo Monitor Vs. LaCie Monitor The contrast is quite amazing, I was just showing my dad (who is tech guy himself). And we just sat here in awe. Much better than the apple monitor I was using at work. And I personally think better than the Eizo, of which I have worked on too. I attached a little screen shot action. An image zoomed in at 50% and the same image at 100%. My screen brightness is on about 75%. And I haven't even calibrated the monitor yet. So I apologize in advance if the color is off. I also don't know if the small thumbnail is even doing it justice. I think it looks even more amazing in person. Hope this helps. Let me know what you think. Amanda
