What do u think about this monitor? Hi all, I'm thinking about buing this one to attach like a second monitor on my laptop (Sony Vaio). It's about 280 euros, of course it's not a Eizo but reading the tech info it seems to be a very good monitor. http://ts.fujitsu.com/products/displ.../sl-3230t.html Any of you have some experience with it or can just tell what is your opinion about this product? Thanks

Re: What do u think about this monitor? hard to say how good a monitor is unless I have tested it, look into the high end Samsungs, NEC Multisyncs, and Eizos.

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Viewing angles of less than 178 usually indicate its a TN panel which you dont want for photo work. The specs of what you posted says Viewing angle 170° / 170°

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Hi Isedo it would help us to recommend something if we knew your absolute top end budget, was 280 Euro that limit?

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Yep, u're right, my max budget for now is about 500 euros. Thanks so much for helping. I do not care about all that fancy features (hdmi and so on), just need a good quality monitor for retouching. My old Lacie is too old and I do not know if can't trust my Sony Vaio laptop screen.

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Thanks for the links! I found 2 monitors i'm thinking about: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...d0269e9cab95e7 and http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...hs1&sku=294438 Another choice can be this: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...1-3648442.html Can someone expert say if it's worth to take the U2410 or save money and take the 2209WA? Thanks Last edited by Isedo; 06-20-2010 at 03:16 PM.

Re: What do u think about this monitor? You are welcome, for sRGB get the 2209WA, for Adobe(wide gamut) get the U2410 But look at the black level and contrast of the Eizo EV2333W, simple outstanding! It got also a good calibration result, it is for sRGB work. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.p...&id=1271060370 http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...2333wh-bk.html

Just based on size , I love my dual 24 inch monitors and would not think of using a 22 due to the screen real estate. Currently I am looking at 30 inch myself. I used to use a 22 inch with one of my 24 in just to use for Bridge . |

Pictus i saw the Eizo and it's very nice monitor...really difficult to make a choice. The U2410 (Adobe wide gamut) reads also of course the sRGB right? I of course know which difference is between Adobe RGB and sRGB but I can't really understand which one to choose. Like you I mostly work with retiuching but also in multimedia (web and graphic design)...the most of files i work with are sRGB. Never had the problem thinking about Adobe RGB. Can u suggest me the right direction please? |

Re: What do u think about this monitor? First off, I don’t really know what Eizo brings to the party you can’t get with an NEC SpectraView II unit at far less money. Use their supported software and a colorimeter and you’ll get all the “accuracy” of an Eizo. As for wide gamut vs. sRGB. Depends on the work you do. If you output files to wider gamut printing devices, and you wish to see those colors, colors outside sRGB, a wider gamut display can be useful. However, the full path from display to app is still only 8-bit. A wider gamut display on images that fall within sRGB will be harder to see subtle, pastel like colors. Think of the sRGB color space as a half inflated balloon with 16.7 million dots on it. If you blow this up twice as big (Adobe RGB (1998)), the colorimetric distance between the dots grows. That means subtle colors are more difficult to see. Ideally, the best solution is two displays; one for wide gamut work, one for low gamut work, assuming you do both kinds of image editing. The other slight disadvantage of wide gamut displays is how they preview colors outside ICC aware applications (all web browsers expect Safari and the newer FireFox). Images “assumed” to be in something close to sRGB will look pretty ugly on a wide gamut display.

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Thanks so much for your detailed answer Andrewrodney. So i think my choose will be an sRgb space as I work a lot with Web and for now, never worked with wide gamut output. Are u suggesting this monitor? http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...1-3648442.html Or some other one? What about the two Dell monitors I've posted before? http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...d0269e9cab95e7 http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...hs1&sku=294438 Thanks

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Glad to help, get the Eizo EV2333W, it is cheaper than the DELL U2410. I dare you to find another monitor with a good calibration result with a black level and static(dynamic is just for marketing) contrast like the EV2333W in its price range. Use this page as a reference http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...bk-part10.html

Re: What do u think about this monitor? Hi I am in a similar situation. I need a 24" monitor (1920x1200). It will be for Lightroom & Photoshop. This will be my home setup for my personal work. For my budget of abort ~$500. I have narrowed it down to the Dell U2410 or the HP LP2475w. I use a 30"CG Ezio at work but I can nor afford something like that at home for personal use. I am leaning towards the Dell because I hear the support is good. I do have a Monaco calibrator so I will be able to calibrate either one. Any comments?

Re: What do u think about this monitor? I wish I could raise the budget. But I stuck at that amount. My old Samsung died so its a unexpected purchase. I am used to 1920x1200 so I do not think 22" is a option. Is there anything else I should look at in the ~$500 range besides the HP and Dell?
