V750 PRO Scanner?

Hi

I'm thinking of buying the V750 PRO Scanner.
I scan old photos mostly with negatives and slides occasionally.

I've read many of the scanner threads so I'm reasonably confident this is a good choice but does it work on Win7?

Looking at Amazon and a few other stores they don't mention Win7 compatibility.

Is this scanner a good choice and will it be okay with Win7?

Thanks in advance
Cheers
Paul

Re: V750 PRO Scanner?

Paul, if it is of any help I use the Epson V500 - AFAIK similar model to yours with less functionality e.g. will only scan 6x6cm and 35mm due to the back light only down the centre.

I am using this under Windows 7 64bit without any issues. It may be that if you are buying new that Windows 7 drivers will be ok - quick check on MS site MS Here seems to be no issues

Re: V750 PRO Scanner?

I use a 750 with Win 7 64 bit and it has worked fine so far. If you aren't scanning larger film sizes and aren't scanning large volumes of film the refurbished V500 from the EpsonStore clearance center is the best deal going right now.

Re: V750 PRO Scanner?

Thanks Doug & Tony,

I've gone for the 750 - thought I'd splash the cash as I've a couple of big jobs on the horizon.

Thanks again for your great input

Cheers

Great choice Paul. I am sure you will be delighted with the results. There are a few times when I have regretted the choice of the v500 - have discovered some old 5x4 and 8x6 transparancies where it would have come in handy.

Re: V750 PRO Scanner?

Hi Tony,

So far I'm pleased with the scanner - first time with digital ice which has proved handy.

Had a issue initially with getting it to work with photoshop but fine now.

Much better scans than previous old Epson scanner - only snag is I now need more more memory for my pc as I'm doing restorations that previously I wouldn't have tried

Cheers
Paul
