Excellent review. I've been teetering between buying one, and doing without. I'm still trying to figure out if I should buy a couple of good books or buy the tablet (can't have both). The review was one that was really welcomed by me. Thanks Greg. Ed

thanks for the really helpful review greg! I've always loved doing non-digital art, and so of course I find the mouse pretty clumsy to use the digital stuff, but I didn't really know too much about the tablets. great to see that it comes with a version of Painter, since I'm getting interested in digital artwork. (I love the cat portrait you did) one of the main things stopping me from buying a tablet is the price, but if this one is good quality for a pretty low price, then that's great (also it has a Linux driver!! - David

Thank you all for the nice compliments! That was my first review and was a lot of fun to write. Ed- That's a tough decision! Christmas (and your birthday!) is not too far away... David- I actually had finished the review and sent it to Doug when it suddenly dawned on me to research if a Linux driver was available...I figured you and some others might want to know! Does "the GIMP" support tablets under Linux?

Nice review of my favorite product Greg, and very left brained of you. Now for Ed et al. go out and buy one tomorrow, it's equal in it's utility to any great graphics proggy, i.e. PS, Painter, and PSP. Everything you have seen me do here except for a couple oldies was done with Graphire2. It's increased my output several hundred percent, no jive. If your not going to paint or draw, it's still better for freehand selections and more. No, they don't pay me to plug their product. greg

Great review! I can't imagine working in Photoshop without my Graphire2 now. When I started, I was afraid I should have sprung for one of the larger Intuos models, but the small size has been a plus for me as well. Sonya
