| Dell ultrasharp 2311 Hi, I have just bought the highly rated Dell Ultrasharp-U2311 (( 1920 x1080 ) and really want to get the best out of it! I will be using it solely to process big raw files ( 70+ mb ) from my Canon EOS 5d mk 2 and Canon L series lenses for professional Stock Agency use. Could someone advise me what the best input cable to use please and why? It came with a blue VGA and a white DVI cable. It didn't come with a display port connector , which I'm told, is the HDMI equivalent? Until I soon get a desktop pc and colour managment system I have temporarily hooked it up to my new ASUS 10 inch netbook using the blue vga cable ( only option ) and surprisingly ( to the dealers who said it wouldn't work) and me of course, it resolves at it's full 1920 x 1080-(The netbooks native res is 1024 x 600 ) Set up this way images on the dell ( without any adjustments ) are much much warmer than the self same ones on the netbook ?? Is there an obvious reason eg like my ignorant theory:-Could it be the vga cabling?? Any recommendations as to what PC I should get , how much RAM, what graphic etc and good colour managment system would be most appreciated. Many thanks folks Steve knott |
