NEC Spectraview price difference Are these the same monitors? There's obviously a huge price difference so I'm wondering if there's a catch! The product names vary slightly, but I can't tell if these are different models. https://shop.colourconfidence.com/pr...1w-lcd-monitor http://www.jigsaw24.com/product-deta...play-with-hood

Re: NEC Spectraview price difference Check that you end up with SpectraView II software and their Colorimeter which depending on the SKEW number may or may not be the case. This might be the reason for the difference here. Otherwise the display itself is the same.

Re: NEC Spectraview price difference Always interested and lusting after better monitors - I have the NEC 2090. As Andrew says the difference appears to be the inclusion of SpectraView which is I believe both software (at one time not available in Europe) and colorimeter. I would check first that the package actually includes the colorimeter in the UK not just the SpectraView software. Quick compare on NEC US site shows this http://necdisplay.com/compare/deskto...&Refurbished=0 So the cheaper one will save you £390+ for which you should be able to pick up a decent colorimeter and software such as basicolor - which I believe that SpectraView software is based on

Re: NEC Spectraview price difference I'm currently lusting after a 30" monitor. I knew it would happen I've narrowed it down to EIZO CG303W 30" and 30" NEC SpectraView 3090. Apart from cost, is there anything to choose between them? I'm a photographer, btw.

Re: NEC Spectraview price difference You've moved the goalposts and obviously found that your pockets are deeper than hinted in your original post My suggestion is to buy both and use the poorer monitor for display of your Photoshop panels and for game play and less serious work leaving the better monitor for the serious stuff Seriously though, I think that you need to show what you see as the technical spec/differences between monitors - perhaps a comparison chart and hopefully someone with expertise will point you in the right direction. There is a pretty big differential in price between the two models, however I am pretty sure that either would serve your needs admirably. Spending so much money I would want to see if I could compare/trial both to see which I thought best
