Re: New Monitor

Matt, welcome to RetouchPro. There have been a number of similar recent threads on monitors with lots of good recommendations from Andrew Rodney, RP member and well known color expert. Just plug monitor into the RP search engine and that should provide you with some good info.
Regards, Murray

Re: New Monitor

very affordable with similar to NEC technology I found it.

don't know how it is but it seems to be a very good one. we need to ask andrewrodney about it.

Re: New Monitor

LaCie makes nothing really, rebranded stuff. I just worked on location with a fellow with TWO of the LED 30” displays which cost big bucks. The software for calibration was pretty awful. Had to contact tech support, it was a process but once I got through, the person was helpful. But overall, not impressed.

Eizo is great but I’ve yet to see or hear why its any better for the extra money over the SpectraView. Depending on the model, they are much more costly.

So for me, NEC is the deal.

Re: New Monitor

The PA series is newer, more advanced (and looking at my PA271 vs. 3090, although not a totally fair and apples to apples comparison), better.

Re: New Monitor

Should I get PA30?
would this be a good choice for photo retouching and color matching to prints?

I can’t see why not, based on my experience with the PA271 (and older 3090). If the budget permits, sure. Be sure you get SpectraView II to calibrate the display and have instrument it supports (or get the bundle with theirs).
