Graphic Card for Photoshop CS5

Hi all,

I'm listing the hardware/software configuration I've. and I want to setup dual monitor system and wants to work in 100% Color managed environment.

1. Core2Duo Processor
2. 4 GM RAM
3. WIndows 7
4. ASUS MotherBoard P5N73-AM
5. X-rite I-1 display 2
6. P-IPS Panel Monitor.
7. Photoshop Extended CS5
8. Pen Teblet

My Motherboard does not have DVI outout for P-IPS Panel Monitor. I contacted my Engineer and he is saying please purchase a graphic card so your work will be more smooth with photoshop and you will have two video output for dual monitor.

Question : Which graphic card I should purchase ? or not ? your suggestion please. here I'm giving u a link so it would be better to look there.

what configuration/theory I've to keep in my mind when choosing a Graphic Card for Photo Editing.

Thank u

Ashish

Get the best Nvidia card you can afford. Buy from the current line (check nvidia.com). Make sure you find out what kind of graphics slot you have first, and buy the version for that slot. Also check your power supply and check that it will run on that. Some require 2 slots, so make sure you have room, or get one that doesn't need 2 slots if you don't.

I personally wouldn't go with that model, it's an old design.

Re: Graphic Card for Photoshop CS5

Just to clarify what Doug said, not only do you have to watch out for the cards that require two slots, you have watch out for the one slot cards that are so big they take up the space over two slots (even though they only plug into just one of the slots). I had that happen.

www.newegg.com is a reputable online vendor that has good pricing. They have deals of the day and shell shocker deals. You should be able to get a good card for a good price.

Re: Graphic Card for Photoshop CS5

What's your slot type? How many slots do you have free? How many watts is your power supply? What connectors do your monitors require?
