Wi-Fi for your Camera?

i first want to stress that i do NOT have one of these... yet. but i like the idea of it! rather than write a long-winded article about this, i think i'll just give you the link and let you read their site: http://www.eye.fi/

Re: Wi-Fi for your Camera?

Got one and after fiddling with it for awhile it works a treat with my Nikon D7000 & IPad2.
Set the eye-fi card in slot 2 set to JPEG Basic , Snap a pic & 2 seconds later it's full screen on your IPad. Tethering without the wire.....cool.

derek

That IS a cool concept! Who'da thought a camera card could do that?

Not sure I like the cloud bit, but the wireless transfer is slick. So long as you're not posting accidentally to everyone's phone in the neighborhood!

Re: Wi-Fi for your Camera?

No cloud, The eye-fi card generates it's own unique IP address so you just select that address from the Wi-Fi settings in IPad, then your connected over a private network. You can also connect thru a wireless network hotspot as well.

Thanks. I thought I saw "cloud" on their website somewhere.

But tell you what, the Verizon "cloud" was helpful when I just had a cell phone replaced (went through the washer, oops!)... Restored the data immediately.

Re: Wi-Fi for your Camera?

If you get the Pro X2 version, it will work with RAW files. Warning - because these are big, they're S-L-O-W transferring. Geotagging will only work with jpegs, if you care about that.
