| Dell Ultrasharp - Adobe RGB? Has anyone got any opinions/experience on how the Dell Ultrasharp line compares to Eizo & NEC screens? Apparently they've got Adobe RGB on the Dells now. Are they close to Eizo Flexscans / NEC Spectraviews? |

| Re: Dell Ultrasharp - Adobe RGB? Until Andrew Rodney answer... The PRO line from NEC(PA) and Eizo(CG and SX) have a programable hardware internal LUT(14 to 16 bit) and it is much better than using the graphics card LUT(8-bit). The Dell U2410, U2711 and U3011 they got a NON programable hardware internal LUT(12-bit) at least it is better than nothing, but the calibration curves still in the graphics card 8-bit LUT. The calibration in the PRO(not Dell) monitors do not lose tones http://www.eizo.com/global/products/...ors/index.html The PRO monitors and also the mentioned Dells supports 10-bit output http://www.imagescience.com.au/kb/qu...Output+Support Look at the reviews: Dell u2410 (the u2711 and u3011 are better) http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...ell-u2410.html NEC PA241W http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...ec-pa241w.html Eizo CG243W http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...zo-cg243w.html In the above reviews pay attention to: -The UGRA test -The panel brightness distribution -The gamut coverage, the best place to compare http://www.iccview.de/content/view/3/7/lang,en/ -The calibration curves, the good ones are in 45º see http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...ff/ccurves.png BTW, the NEC PA241w-BK-SV is the sweet one... The BK-SV version comes with the calibration combo, and there is some differences between USA/Europe versions, see http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/...erence_271.htm Last edited by Pictus; 04-29-2012 at 05:59 PM. |
