NEC PA241W or EIZO CG223W

Having to decide what monitor to buy next since my HP LP2475W has been returned and refunded (colour tinting issues on the sides of screen)

I had decided on the NEC PA241W, both good reviews and good advice here in the forum pointing to that.

Today while looking on the web for info on the newly announced EIZO CX240 I found the Eizo CG223w and it looks quite good, albeit a little smaller than the 24'' NEC, but its actually cheaper and if I am not mistaken it comes with a hood.

what do you guys think? Has anyone used/tested or being EIZO means it will be amazing no matter what?

You are comparing 24" with 22". The Eizo equivalent to the NEC is Eizo the FlexScan SX2462W I believe.

I am sure most monitors from either NEC or Eizo are very good so it will come down to budget and your particular needs

We tested an Eizo a few years back. It could not display the difference between rich black (four color CMYK black) and flat black (one color CMYK black) on screen. This shifted our focus to the NEC, which not only displayed the difference, the overall quality of the calibration was better. We currently have two PA271W displays and will be purchasing another one soon.
