pen/graphic tablet for retoucher

Hi guys.Is really much easy to do some retouching using pen/graphic tablet instead of mouse?

Plan to buy a cheap pen/tablet just to try if its easy for me to do some
other retouching task.

Hope someone can answer this.thanks in advance.

Simple answer is yes, a graphics tablet makes any intensive repetitive taks in an image editing program easier/faster, especially anything enveloping a brush... Once you get use to it. Helps a lot in my opinion on straining the hand.

Bamboo is rather cheap, will give you some idea of what it will be like.

I used a mouse all the time. When I wanted to get serious about retouching, I made sure to get a tablet. I can't even use a regular mouse now for retouching. It will make your life less stressful, and most of all you can work a lot faster.

After researching, I went with wacom intuos3. I was going to get a newer version but I heard from Dave Hill that he didn't like them (personal choice) I also could not afford a new version. I searched on ebay and picked up intuos3 for a hundred and fifty bucks, awesome deal. Never looked back.

yes. ive been a professional retouching specialist in the field for 15 years and have gone threw 8 tablets. you'll love it and never look back.

this is my current pen. The pen was built up to help hand stress from holding it for 8-10 hrs a day
