Hi I am looking to replace my Minolta Dimage Scan Multi with a newer and hopefully just as reliable modern equivilant for about £2,000. I have looked on Nikon's site for their Coolscan 8000 and Minoltas at their replacement Multi Scan Pro but was wondering if there was any other scanners, at about this price and spec, that might be worth considering. Hopefully Iain H

Iain, Unfortunately, I haven't kept up with the current film scanners (because I don't have the funds to buy one right now. ) However, if I were in the market, I would start at Tony Sleep's website. He has quite a bit of information on film scanners along with reviews. And, he runs the "filmscanners" e-mail list - which is VERY active! (Lots of people on that list swear by the Polaroid film scanners.)Hope this helps some. Sorry I can't give you a recommendation from personal experience. Jeanie

I have a Canon FS4000US and could not be happier. Does a magnificent job with 35mm film. Good depth of colour and a pin sharp image. Steve Campbell Armidale, NSW Australia

FilM Scanner THANKS FOR THE TIP'S BUT I NEED A SCANNER THAT TAKES ROLL FILM SIZES AS WELL AS I USE A LOT OF 6X6 NEGS. THIS IS WHY I WAS LOOKING AT THE NIKON AND MINOLTA SCANNERS AS THESE TAKE THE VARIOUS SIZE AND SHAPE OF 120 NEGS/TRANNIES THANKS AGAIN IAIN H

Lots of people on the filmscanner list scan the 120 negs/trannies. I recommend that you post a question there (including your requirements) since that list is dedicated to the subject. Given that not too many have responded here, I'm guessing that there's nota whole lot of experience to share with you. Jeanie
