Best Prices for Printer Supplies

Here's a great discount site for printer supplies. They seem to have the best prices around that I've found. I have ordered from them and was very pleased with their services and prices. Check it out here

Their statement that they're an exporter bothers me. Are their goods gray market?

Question

I'm not sure what you mean by gray market. Is that a step above black market or something? The products I got from them were the identical products I get from Epson in the same factory packaging as Epson sells as opposed to generics. So I am not sure what to tell you. They were prompt and I had no problems with their business practices. I have ordered 2 or 3 times from them already and so far so good.

From your description is sounds like they are not gray market.

Gray market goods are those manufactured for foreign markets but sold here. They're frequently cheaper due to exchange rates and to the fact that they are not under local warranty (and can even invalidate the warranty of the device they're used in).

Photographic and electronic suppliers have been victim of gray marketers since at least the 70s. Over and above the warranty problem is the fact that many gray marketers will pinch pennies in other ways, like storage in inappropriate places (ie: un-climate controlled warehouses) and unprofessional business practices (ie: breaking apart multipacks and selling the loose contents).

But again, it sounds like this supplier is not a gray marketer (but be careful out there).

Excellent advice Doug. There are so many scams out there that you never know and it's good to be cautious. I posted this site because I had dealt with them before and had qood results. I thought that would help others be more comfortable if they knew someone had purchased there before. As a matter of fact, I will be making another order very soon.

I never even heard of that gray market before so that is something I will look out for in the future. I suspect I know of one locally that we found online and when I went there, they had the products but they were in different packaging and that left me leary of them. Now that you mentioned those type business practices I think that's what they were. That's why I pointed out that I got factory packages from this site. Thanks for the valuable advice.

Yeah, I remember in the 70's and 80's there were a lot of gray market suppliers. Wasn't sure if they were still around or not, but evidently they are. Some of the larger mail order suppliers sold gray market items, and you had to be careful. Like Doug pointed out - these items did not carry a U.S. warranty.

Hey DJ,

That is the same company I have been using and they are great.

I posted about them on another thread and their prices are the best I have found also.

No generics to mess with and they are excellent to deal with.
