What did he say?? lol

What I have (and probably will have to do for *quite* some time:
custom P4
1 gig RAM
80 gig internal harddrive
21"nokia monitor
Monsoon external speakers (have to have tunes..)
printer and scanner are not worth mentioning...good thing I work mostly on my own photos : )
Anyway, while I'm here I have a technical question. Hopefully, somebody can answer..?
Recently we networked 2 computers here at home. Would that slow MY computer down, (way down)if it is the one used as a server to the other?
<completely lost look>

hehe, i have ZX spectrum

or its equivalent - celeron 800MHz, 320MB RAM, 60GB disk, and so crappy gfx card, i'm not gonna name it (blush)... and freshly graphire3... though, i use it mainly for programming, and gfx is more of a hobby, so...

sometimes (all right, all the time) i wish i had at home the comp we use at school for computations - 16*2GHz P4 each w/ 2GB RAM, discobolos raid disk cluster w/ 4TB, running TruUNIX and Win NT, and for visualization we have cluster of 4 SGI Onyx2... *sigh*

Good old days.......
Dad's Radio Shack TRS-80, Cassette recorder and a very very small screwdriver to adjust the azimuth.... but that was a looong time ago.

at work: Pentium II, 400MHz, Windows 98, 128M RAM (well I ought to be working not fixing photos) and a fast internet server that thinks "photo", "free", "download" are naughty words.

at home: Athlon, 1,5GHz, Windows XP, 256M RAM, Benq 1200x2400 Scanner (bit surprised to discover that it does work). Upgrade wishlist..too long to include here!

I've also upgraded my vidcard to a Matrox p650 (I didn't believe all the reports, but I really can see a big difference). I'm also running an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard now, but it sounds the same for MP3s and DVDs (bought it for other reasons).
