intuous pen selection problems

Bought a wacom inctuous tablet a few weeks ago.. Im happy with it.. Much less strain on the hand. Do have a problem with selecting though... Often l am only a quarter way through the selection and it closes.. Sometimes l can clean up in quick mask but the problem is frustrating... Have tryed regulating wacom properties without luck... What would be the best configurations to stop this problem.. Its as if l double clicking but l dont feel l am. .. Tell.

This might be way off, but I sometimes have problems with accidentally clicking on the side button, particularly if I'm concentrating on a particularly difficult bit.

Thanks Doug. Yes the side switch can be accidently bumped but this is not the problem.. At first l thought it might be but after numerous selections l have found this not to be the case.
