Re: Hdr!! Great results. Personally, I'm more a fan of Artizen. I find I have more control over the results. One technique I've found for great images it to create an HDR image, tone map it and then convert to monochrome like this one ... http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29440958/ Pete

Re: Hdr!! thanks, Palms! And believe me I know how you feel! I have been wanting to do this for forever it seems! FYI - I try out both Photomatix and the one "Swamp Donkey" posted (had to 'say' that name just once, Pete - lol). I just downloaded the trial of Artizen. It will be interesting to see how the two compare. And actually it is very fair. I worked my pho-to-graphin' butt off last month and deserved the treat (that along with my new lens - haha). The free program - q-whatever - I could not figure that out to save my life - but then, I didn't read the directions either... might have helped?

Re: Hdr!! Aaah, correction, my dear Gary - graveyard, not yards... lol It really just happened that this particular day I finally had the chance to head to our local cemetery for some artistic playing around, which I have also been wanting to do for forever. Anyway, so I decided that I was going to finally download Photomatix and give it a shot on these. Just kinda - happened - lol. and besides, our graveyard is a really interesting place. There's a mass Confederate soldiers' grave there, 2 of John Hancock's grandsons are buried there, the witch's grave, and lots of other stories buried there... Thanks, btw! I looove dramatic images!!

Re: Hdr!! Just as long as you're not going "Gothic" on us. No, I agree graveyards can be interesting places, particularly if it's an old one. The old stones and memorials always seem to have been done with more style and interest than they are nowadays and you can get some great angles and detail with them. Don't know who John Hancock is, so guess I'm gonna have to hit the Google again. EDIT: Ah, so that's who he is! Well you can understand why someone from my side of the pond wouldn't know who he was. I mean, over here he'd just be another in a long line of rebellious colonials with a penchant for signing documents Last edited by Gary Richardson; 07-21-2007 at 03:31 AM.

Re: Hdr!! I know about a free program called HDR Shop ( version 1 is free, I'm not sure about version 2). The first page will take you to a free plug in, for the free programme. http://www.gregdowning.com/HDRI/tonemap/Reinhard/ This link is the HDR Shop page. http://www.gregdowning.com/HDRI/tonemap/Reinhard/ Have absolutely no idea if it is any good

Re: Hdr!! Thanks, bonzai. And thanks, Alison, I will have to look into that. Gary - I really am sorry Besides - you know how we Americans can be so wrapped up in our own little world, and just pig-headedly assume everyone else is just like us - LOL...
