PSP X2 HDR tool: how does it compare to others?

I've been using Paint Shop Pro for a long time and, for what I need to do with photographs, it's been a great tool (I don't do any art stuff).

I've been using the latest version, X2, for about six months. This version includes HDR for the first time. I haven't been entirely happy with the results because the only controls available are Clarify and Brightness.

Has anyone actually compared the output of PSP X2 with other available tools?
