Sharpen Power Tool brings up Gaussian Blur

I just installed the Hidden Power Tools for Photoshop Elements 3. The install seemed to go well, however, when I click on the Sharpen tool in PowerTools1, it brings up the Gaussian Blur tool. Likewise, clicking on the Sharpen Plus tool brings up Gaussian Blur.

The other power tools that I've tried seem to be OK.

Any idea what is wrong?

TIA,
Al

Part of my process for sharpening (as discussed in the book) depends on the darkroom process for sharpening...which is achieved by blurring and using a blurred copy of the negative to burn and dodge the image.

Check out the section in the book about the tool for a more complete description.

Well, duh. The answer was right there on pages 162 and 163.

Thanks for gently pointing me to the book.

No problem. They go hand-in-hand, for the most part. I was hoping to raise some discussion on the list by including the Bonus tools, which aren't really discussed in the book.

And anyway -- just because it is in the book doesn't mean it is obvious. I am glad to have users chattering -- it means they are reading and/or using the tools rather than using the book (and CD) as a paperweight.

Feel free to bring stuff up, it is what the forum is for!

Richard
