Hidden Power Support - - Tool problems

I installed PE3 and the Hidden Tools 3 Upgrade today.

I tried to run the "text to shape" tool and I get the following error message:
'The command "Make" is not currently available.'

What's wrong?

you need to run that on a text layer. You either have a text layer that is not the active layer, or there is no text layer. This must be a defined text layer, not one with rasterized type.

I swear that is what I was doing, but I must have been something wrong, as I just tried it again and it worked fine.

It was probably something as simple as: you created the layer, inadvertently activated another layer while opening the Effects palette, and tried to apply the tool. Easy enough to do. Glad it was easy to locate the trouble!
