| Split Luminosity I am using Elements 3 with the Hidden Powers add-ons. Recently I have decided to make a standard practice of doing a “Split Luminosity” on the background image; then doing color processing on the Color layer and brightness processing on the Luminosity layer. However I am getting the impression that some of the processes do not work properly when separating color from brightness.
Should color corrections be done before splitting Luminosity, and before any brightness changes?
Is tint correction a constant (like screen mode) or is it a percentage of brightness (like multiply mode)?
Should the “maintain luminosity” check box be left unchecked when working on the color layer?
Is duplicating a normal layer, changing the duplicate to “Color” mode,
and changing the mode of the original layer to “Luminosity”, the equivalent of splitting Luminosity?
Thanks for you input, |
