Free Extra Tools and what they do?

HI, how do I find out what the free actions do that come with the free actions player, I appreciate they are free and may not have full documentation but I thought I would ask.
Mainly its info on the Channel Mixer, Selective Colour, Shadow and Highlight Mask.
I know there are more but those are the main ones.
The description that comes on the read me helps but for instance on the Shadow mask what defines what is shadow, I am after a bit more info
Thanks
Peter

The free tools are meant to give you a taste of what is in the book or in the tool set made available on the website. There is enough documentation there to make use of the tools. The book itself describes additional functionality.
