| | | Re: Installing actions in Photoshop Elements 6 for the Mac Thanks for the pointers, but no luck I'm afraid. (BTW, the Photoshop 7 on the old machine was running under Panther...)
I found that actions folder, but the only actions in it are the stock Photoshop ones - none of the many ones that I created myself over the last few years.
I did a system search for the names of some of my self-created actions to no avail, so I suspect the self-created ones are contained in some kind of proprietary individual file that holds them all, perhaps the one I came across in my earlier search.
So, I may have to find someone with a more recent OS (Tiger or Leopard) who can create the one action I most need (which is a simple resize operation), and they can send the file to me to install in my Elements folder. I think I can live with that.

Open PS7.. highlight the action you want to save... click the little arrow pointing right at the top right of the Action menu for a fly out menu... click save actions ... The action will be saved into the Photoshop actions folder so you can find and move it later... Repeat for all the actions you want saved for transfer
Hope this helps |

Photoshop does not have one place where you are forced to place action files. if you search for .ATN files you may find them, but you should be able to search by action name as well. If you cleaned up your system and threw out the actions, the files may not exist. You can resave them out of Photoshop using the Actions palette and Save Actions. When you save them (which actually might be easier than finding or recreating them), you can locate them anywhere you want. |

| | | Re: Installing actions in Photoshop Elements 6 for the Mac Camner,
Yeah, after I put it up I noticed it was there, and figured I'd have time to change that today before too many people got at it. Thanks for making sure I knew. I was optimistic about having a few other things up, and likely will today.
Michael,
I may have changed my original plans due to just not being able to get to what I wanted and may be making them available this week. The free set will certainly be up. There may be some new sets too...but I hesitate to explain what those are as I have to do it around meeting deadlines for writing and making some changes to my online classes.
Thanks for the interest! |
