If you want to know about paper surfaces, the Wikipedia entry on photographic paper has links to companies making them. Some, maybe most, were around for the period you need. You could contact them.

Another source would be old photographic magazine advertisments. Popular Photography was around during that time, a good source if your search covers mostly the US.

thanks everyone for the info reallt appreciate it.To answer some questions,
1)I need to find papers or film that was used in family photographs.

2)any kind families used and took to have developed and what papers could
have been used between 1945-65
