Dating antique clothing. . .

I have had a request from a co-worker inquiring as to whether or not I could period date some clothing. Her relatives were Native Americans who walked the Trail of Tears. I thought there was a website somewhere that had photos of the several types of apparel with the dates and descriptions of the items, but google and didn't provide satisfactory results. Thank you.

Re: Dating antique clothing. . .

Hi, I just happened across a very nice website a couple of weeks ago. They seem to have put a lot of hard work into the site and seems to be filled with very useful information.

Click on the photography link in the left frame.

I really enjoyed looking and learning through the information. Hope this helps.

A long time ago I worked in a research library and I still love to hunt things down. Found a promising link but her photos only go to 1919:

Also found this one:

Didn't have time to pursue the links but it looks very promising.
