help dating tintypes

I'm hoping for some expert advice. I have the following three tintypes that are of my family but who, I'm not sure. If someone can help me date them I can narrow down who these folks might be. The first (a man sitting in a chair wearing a suit) has a shiny finish while the other two have a matte finish. All are attracted to a magnet. It appears that the woman is smoking a pipe and standing with the aid of a cane. I'm guessing from the background it is more recent. None have any identifying marks and were not in any kind of album. Any help you can give - even just insights to what they are wearing, etc... would be much appreciated!

Re: help dating tintypes

From what I can discern, tintypes were most popular between 1850's to the 1880's.
