painting light Hello everyone :-) Can anyone help me to find out about the technique that brings such beautiful light into an image? Like in these ones: Lighthouse 1 Lighthouse 2 I use to use adjustment layers, but I am not sure what you guys did with these pics. Blur?? Thank you VERY much in advance!

I have never tried light beams before so I gave it a shot. I created a new layer, used my polygonal lasoo set with a 10 pixel feather and created the shape I wanted the light. Filled it with a white to nothing gradient and backed the opacity off till I had it about right. Then I used the history brush and painted some streaks back into the light. Last of all, still using the history brush I painted the flag pole back infront of the light. There is probably easier ways but this seemed to work okay.

Light Beam Wow, that seems to be a good method. Your light beam looks really like the twin of the original one. Thanks so far! Any other suggestions? Thank you all.

Chris, thank you so much for your technique on light painting. I will try the color layer. Sometimes the simplest and easyiest ways to achieve a goal are so far away... We say in Germany "You can't see the forest because of all those trees" :-) I saw another picture with a sailing boat here on RetouchPro. Also with awesome light painting. I will see, if I can find it again! Bye for now! Tanja

Awesome!! I love these clouds and the subtle shades of them in the background. That gives it a fantastic depth and lively, kind of playful touch. I also love the detail in the beams.
