removing color inside a glare

Hi I am pretty new to this website- I have been reading alot..but now I have a problem to fix that I was curious to see what you all would think.
There is a glare in a cup filled with dark chocolate and inside the highlight there is a purple tint that needs to be the same color as the chocolate....there is alot of water and details ontop of it
what would be the best way to deal with this
thanks
LAuren

Purple chocolate

Well I selected the general area where the purple was and selected that to a new layer. I then selected the yellow in the new layer and deleted it from the second layer. I changed the blending mode to multiply and lowered the opacity and erased on the second layer to blend it in. I've enclosed a picture of the second layer to the right of the chocolate one.

There still may be some residual purple but perhaps you might find something along these lines helpful.
