Talking What Do You Call It?

Hi Everyone,

I've been really busy on a large restoration job, so I'm sorry that I haven’t been around for a couple of weeks.

I'm trying to describe exactly what I am cleaning up on their photos. However, I am not calling by the "Correct" name or terminology. The photos were taken in the 50s and 60s. When you look closely at the photos there are a bunch of color spots, fine hairs, and other imperfections that I am cleaning using the healing brush.

So if you had to explain to someone that does not know anything about this - what the heck would you call it?

I know too funny!

Thanks!
Jon

I call it "spotting" (a holdover from my darkroom days). But to the customer I simply call it "restoration".
