Badly Damaged B&W: REALLY need help with this.

Couldn't remove the pattern completely, but I think with more attempts this picture could be cleaned up completely using the FFT filter. Used AstraImage's FFT function to edit out the pattern. And used a mean filter to slightly blur out the persistent dots. But when trying to use levels to brighten up the picture, the sky gets easily saturated.

what are these fft filters? can you explain to me please

Also here is my coloring atempt, not really tryed the dots yet.

when i follow that tutrial at the end i end up with a mass of red and green pixels on my screen.

Here's what I came up with using FFT, Grain Surgery Noise Reduction and Despeckle filter.

something funny is happening with photoshop, wheneve ri amke a change to "anything" the picture goes all funny , can see lots of noise and the colors get flushed.
