Remove Text from image

Alright, I want to take the text out of this image, where would you guys start?

Cropping the text out would be the easiest way, else you are up for a whole heap of cloning and colour matching to reconstruct

Not wanting to be obnoxious (but I'm going to be), how about contacting the photographer and asking for permission to use the original?

Removing Type

Well you could select the type and copy that to a new layer. Lock the transparency in that layer and have at it with the clone tool and brush.
